Use and care tips

Put the owl on a shelf or chest of drawers near the cot rather than inside it: VTech advises keeping it out of the sleeping area of babies under 12 months. Choose a low brightness and gentle sounds for the bedtime routine.

The supplied batteries are for in-store demo: replace them with new alkaline batteries. Remove the electronic module before washing the plush.

Frequently asked questions

Can the night light stay in baby's cot?

Not before 12 months: VTech asks that the plush be kept out of the sleeping area of babies under one. Place it next to the cot, in sight.

Does the night light turn off by itself?

Yes. It stops after 15 or 30 minutes depending on the setting, goes into standby and comes back on if it detects crying.

Which night light colour is best for baby?

A warm, dim light (orange, pink) is generally preferred at night over bright blue or white light. Set the Lumi Owl to a low brightness.

What batteries does it use?

2 AA (LR6) batteries. The ones supplied are test batteries, so plan on alkaline or charged Ni-MH ones.
