Bedside cribs

En savoir plus

A bedside crib is chosen first according to your bed: the height of your mattress must fall within the crib’s adjustment range, and its attachment system must suit your bed base. Attached to the parents’ bed, open side facing you, it keeps baby right beside you at night, on their own sleeping surface, during the first months.

Our range brings together the Zina, Amara and Calidoo models from Bébé Confort, in several colours. Compare them at our Maârif showroom in Casablanca, or have them delivered anywhere in Morocco.

Which bedside crib should you choose?

  • Co-sleeper: a compact crib with a side panel that lowers or opens towards the parents’ bed. It suits parents who want a dedicated bed for the first months, in their own room.
  • 2-in-1 model: the manufacturer plans two set-ups, for example attached to the bed or used on its own as a crib. It suits parents who also want a free-standing bed, for instance in another room.
  • Classic crib or Moses basket: it stands next to the bed without being attached. It suits parents who prefer a light bed to move around; see our cribs and Moses baskets.

What to check before you buy

  • Height: measure your bed from the floor to the top of the mattress and compare it with the crib’s adjustment range: baby’s mattress should be level with yours.
  • Attachment: the straps or fasteners supplied must go around your bed base, so that no gap remains between the two sleeping surfaces.
  • Drop-down side: easy to handle and securely locked; it goes back up as soon as the crib is no longer attached to the bed.
  • Usage limit: the maximum age or weight stated by the manufacturer.
  • Mattress and ventilation: the mattress supplied or recommended, firm and well fitted; mesh sides let air circulate and let you see baby at a glance.
  • Footprint: the free space beside the bed and, depending on the model, wheels or folding to move it.

Good to know in Morocco

  • Storage bed, solid base or very high bed: these are the cases where attachment raises the most questions. Note the height from the floor to the top of your mattress and the free space beside the bed, then bring these measurements to the showroom: we will help you find a compatible model.
  • Small parents’ bedroom: allow for the crib’s width plus room to get out of bed; it often takes the place of the bedside table on that side.
  • Hot nights: no thick blanket or bumper; dress baby lightly, in a sleeping bag suited to the temperature, and keep the sides clear so that air can circulate.

Frequently asked questions

Does a bedside crib fit every bed?

Not always. It depends on the height of your mattress and the type of bed base: compare them with the adjustment range and attachment system shown on the product page. If in doubt, bring your bed’s measurements to the showroom.

Until what age can you use a bedside crib?

Respect the maximum age or weight stated by the manufacturer. Instructions generally say to stop as soon as baby can sit up, kneel or pull themselves up unaided. It is then time to move to a baby cot with bars.

How do you set up the crib safely?

Attach it to the parents’ bed with the system supplied, with no gap between the two mattresses, and follow the instructions. Lay baby on their back, on the crib’s own mattress, with no pillow, duvet or bumper. Raise the side panel as soon as the crib is no longer attached to the bed.

What does “2-in-1” mean on a crib?

The manufacturer plans two set-ups, for example a crib attached to the parents’ bed and a free-standing crib. The exact set-ups and their limits are given on the product page and in the instructions for each model.

Do you need to buy a separate mattress?

Check on the product page whether the mattress is included. Use only the mattress supplied or recommended by the manufacturer, without stacking a second one or adding a topper: the sleeping surface must stay firm and fit perfectly.
