High chairs

En savoir plus

When your baby starts sharing family meals, a high chair seats them at your level, securely held. At La Maison du Bébé, in Morocco, compare convertible, compact and wooden high chairs. To choose a baby chair, think about the space you have and how long you'll use it.

Which high chair should you choose?

  • A convertible high chair adapts as the months go by; the number of configurations depends on the model (2-in-1, 8-in-1…).
  • A compact high chair is easy to store: compare its size once folded.
  • A wooden high chair blends in with your dining room furniture; check that it comes with a cushion and a harness.
  • A booster chair: a lightweight alternative that attaches to an adult chair.

What to check before you buy

  • Age of use: the minimum age varies by model and position; follow the age given by the manufacturer for each configuration.
  • Safety: an easy-to-adjust harness, fastened at every meal, a stable base and reliable locking; never leave your child alone. Look for the European standard EN 14988 on the product page.
  • Adjustments: height, backrest recline, footrest and removable tray, depending on the model.
  • Size: unfolded and folded dimensions, weight, wheels or not.
  • Care: for a baby chair used at every meal, an easy-to-clean seat and tray save you time.

Our selection includes high chairs from Bébé Confort, Maxi-Cosi, Badabulle, Safety 1st and CAM.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can baby sit in a high chair?

It depends on the model and the position used: follow the age given by the manufacturer and, if in doubt, ask your paediatrician for advice.

High chair or booster chair?

A high chair stands on its own and is often adjustable; a booster chair takes up less space and is easy to take with you. Many families use both: a high chair at home, a booster chair at relatives' homes or when travelling.

Our high chairs are available in Morocco, with delivery to Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier… To try the folding and adjustments, visit our showroom in Casablanca (Maârif), or browse the whole Feeding department.

Baby high chair: from what age and how to choose the right one

Timba high chair with cushion Light Wood Beige Bébé Confort

A baby high chair can be used as soon as your child can sit up unaided, upright: this is often around 6 months, but this milestone matters more than age. To choose the right one, check safety first (harness with crotch strap, wide base, reliable locking), then the type that suits you: classic, folding or convertible chair, or booster chair. Whatever the model, baby is always strapped in and never left alone.

Key points

  • Only seat your baby once they can sit up unaided, upright (often around 6 months).
  • Harness fastened at every meal, with a crotch strap: the tray does not hold the child in.
  • Never leave your child alone in the high chair, even for a moment.
  • Wide base, locking in good condition, chair kept away from the cooker, windows and cords.
  • Classic, folding, convertible or booster: choose according to your space and how long you'll use it.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can you use a high chair?

When your child can sit up unaided, upright, often around 6 months. This is the criterion used by Health Canada: age is only a guide. The reclined position on some models is not high chair use.

When should you buy a high chair?

Get it a little before your baby can sit up unaided, so you have time to assemble it, read the instructions and adjust the seat. A model with a recliner position can be used earlier, within the age and weight limits stated by the manufacturer.

Convertible or classic high chair?

A convertible chair adjusts as your child grows and lasts longer. A classic chair is simpler, and the folding version is easy to store. In every case, check the harness, the stability and the weight limit in the instructions.
