The group 2/3 car seat takes over from the harnessed seat. It is usually a high-back booster seat: your child is held by the car’s 3-point seat belt, which the seat guides to the right height. The models in this category are available in Morocco, in ISOFIX or seat-belt versions.
How do you choose a group 2/3 car seat?
- The standard: R44/04 for group 2/3, from 15 to 36 kg, or R129 (i-Size), which gives a height range in centimetres. Compare it with your child’s current height.
- Backrest and headrest: height-adjustable, they position the belt guide at shoulder level. Check that the adjustment is simple, as it will follow your child’s growth.
- Installation: an ISOFIX car seat stays stable on the back seat, even when empty. Without ISOFIX, both seat and child are held by the seat belt.
- Format: some models fold for storage or car-sharing; also measure the width if several children travel in the back.

When should you move up to group 2/3?
When your child exceeds the limit of their harnessed seat and reaches the minimum stated for the new seat. Follow the guidance in the instructions rather than age alone.
How is it different from a backless booster seat?
A high-back booster seat guides the belt at shoulder level and supports the head. A backless model is only for older children, within the limits set by its standard.
Is the seat easy to adjust?
Each model has its own height-adjustment system: the instructions show the correct position of the headrest and belt guide in relation to your child’s shoulders.

Up to what age can a group 2/3 car seat be used?
Until your child reaches the seat’s height or weight limit, generally at around 10 to 12 years (36 kg or 150 cm depending on the model).
What is the difference between group 2/3 and i-Size 100-150 cm?
Both cover the same period; the i-Size standard (R129) classifies seats by the child’s height rather than weight.
