A door safety gate closes off access to a room, the kitchen or the stairs as soon as baby starts moving around. This selection, available in Morocco, brings together gates and extensions for openings of about 80 to 136 cm: the width actually covered depends on the model and the extensions added.

Which gate should you choose for your opening?

  • The gate on its own: the Safety 1st auto-close gate, which closes automatically, or the Badabulle Safe & Lock metal gate. Compare the minimum and maximum widths shown on each product page.
  • Extensions: Safety 1st offers 7 cm and 28 cm extensions to widen its gate. They only fit a compatible model from the same brand.

What to check before you buy

  • Measurement: measure the opening at floor level and higher up, between the two walls or posts, before choosing the gate and its extensions.
  • Fixing: pressure-fit or screw-fit depending on the model. At the top of stairs, only use a gate that the manufacturer allows in that location, with the fixing specified in the instructions.
  • Opening: the door’s opening direction, auto-close function and a lock designed to be operated by an adult.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if an extension is compatible?

Note the brand and exact model of your gate: an extension is only designed for gates in the same range. Each extension’s product page states its compatibility.

Is a gate enough to make stairs safe?

It limits access but does not replace adult supervision. Check the tightness regularly and don’t step over it: open it every time you pass through.
