Choosing well: age, size and baby's habits
0-6 months or 6-18 months
PreVent and Advantage come in two sizes that grow with baby: 0-6 months, then 6-18 months. The HappyPaci comes only in 0-6 months. Move up a size around 6 months, or earlier if the pacifier looks too small for baby's mouth.
Breastfed or bottle-fed
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises waiting until breastfeeding is going well, which usually takes 3 to 4 weeks, before offering a pacifier to a breastfed baby. For a baby fed with a Dr. Brown's bottle, the HappyPaci, with the same bulb shape, is often the easiest to accept. Every baby has preferences: it is normal to try two models before finding the right one.
A pacifier is not the answer to everything
A pacifier meets the need to suck. It doesn't replace a feed: offer it once you've checked baby isn't hungry. Never force it, and never dip it in honey or sugar.
Glow-in-the-dark pacifiers and clips: allies for nights and outings
A glow-in-the-dark pacifier is easy to find in the dark without switching on the light or waking the whole house. According to Dr. Brown's, it simply recharges in daylight. Note: in the Advantage 6-18 months glow pack, the manufacturer states that one of the two pacifiers glows. Keep one by your bed and one in the changing bag, especially during short Ramadan nights or long car journeys.

When and how to stop the pacifier?
There is no single age. To help your child stop gently:
