Foam play mats
Crawling, rolling, first attempts at standing: a foam play mat cushions little falls and insulates your baby from cold or hard floors such as tiles. Colourful and modular, it turns a corner of the living room into a play area.
How to choose a foam play mat for your baby?
- Thickness: a sufficiently dense foam cushions falls without making balance unsteady.
- Format: interlocking tiles let you adjust the surface to the room and store it easily.
- Care: a surface that wipes clean with a sponge stays hygienic despite snacks on the floor.
- Safety: check the stated age, especially if the mat has small removable shapes.
- Play value: animals, numbers or colours, the designs become a support for play and vocabulary.
Ludi play mats
Our selection brings together three Ludi play mats: the Touch 9-piece animal tiles, the animal foam play mat and the number tiles. To enrich floor time, see our baby development toys range and our rattles for little ones.
Frequently asked questions
From what age can a foam play mat be used?
As soon as your baby spends time on the floor, following the minimum age stated on each model’s product page.
How do you clean foam tiles?
A damp sponge and mild soap are enough; leave to dry flat before reassembling.
Tiles or a one-piece mat?
Tiles are modular and can be replaced one by one; a one-piece mat is quicker to set up. Choose according to your space.

Your questions
From what age can a foam puzzle mat be used?
According to the manufacturer: from 10 months for Ludi’s Touch animal tiles. Check the age stated on each product page.

An activity play mat with arches is for the first months; a foam mat is then used for crawling, sitting and playing on the floor.
