Scooter, tricycle or balance bike: a first ride-on goes along on trips to the park and outdoor play. To choose well, consider your child’s age and height, their confidence and how the ride-on will be used. Discover our models available in Morocco.

Which model should I choose?

  • The tricycle: three wheels for a stable seat. The Bébé Confort Windy tricycle comes in several colours; check its product page for the recommended age and what is included.
  • The balance bike: a children’s bike without pedals, which the child moves along by pushing with their feet. Chicco offers them in several colours.
  • The scooter: models for children, including foldable versions, and large urban scooters for older kids, from 14 years according to their product page.

What to check before you buy

  • Age and maximum load: respect the age shown on the packaging and the maximum weight stated in the instructions.
  • Adjustments: check on the product page whether the seat or handlebars are height-adjustable to keep up with your child’s growth.
  • Folding: a foldable model is easier to store in the car boot or the hallway.
  • Brakes and wheels: check the braking system and the type of wheels for the terrain: park, pavement or path.

Our tricycles and balance bikes come from Bébé Confort and Chicco. Find more ideas for playing outside in our outdoor toys.

Frequently asked questions

Balance bike or tricycle: which should come first?

A tricycle offers a stable seat on three wheels; a balance bike calls for more balance. Go by the age recommended by the manufacturer and by how confident your child is.

Does a child need a helmet for a scooter?

Wearing a helmet that fits the child’s head is recommended as soon as they ride, with adult supervision and away from traffic.

Which scooter for a teenager?

Choose a large model whose age range and maximum load suit their size, such as our urban models recommended from 14 years.

Tricycle, balance bike, scooter or kids’ bike: what to choose by age

Windy 2-in-1 convertible tricycle Mineral Green Bébé Confort

The tricycle, balance bike, scooter and bike each match a stage: according to Naître et grandir, a child can start on a balance bike between 18 and 24 months, ride a tricycle alone at around 3 years, move to a 2-wheel scooter from 4 to 6 years and ride a bike without stabilisers at around 5 years. These ages are a guide only: your child’s balance and eagerness matter more than their date of birth. Whatever the ride-on, a helmet is strongly recommended and an adult should stay close by.
