1. The travel system (3-in-1): the complete solution from birth

A 3-in-1 travel system brings three elements together on one frame: a carrycot or convertible seat for the first months lying flat, an infant car seat (group 0+) that clicks onto the frame, then the toddler seat. It is the most popular choice in Morocco for families who switch between the car and walks.

2. The 2-in-1 (duo): stroller + infant car seat

A duo pairs a stroller with an infant car seat or a carrycot. It works if the stroller can already be used lying flat from birth. 3. The everyday compact stroller

Lighter than a travel system and more comfortable than an umbrella stroller, it is the stroller for shopping, nursery runs and the mall. 4. The ultra-compact "cabin" stroller (travel)

Folded, these strollers fit in the boot of a small city car, and some fit in an aircraft's overhead bin. The best known is the Babyzen YOYO range, and we also carry YOYO accessories. Other models in stock:

5. The all-terrain stroller

Large wheels, four-wheel suspension, a sturdy frame: the all-terrain stroller is made for the beach, the Bouskoura forest or badly damaged pavements, at the cost of more bulk and weight. See our all-terrain strollers.

6. The double stroller (twins or close siblings)

Two formats: side by side (wide, so measure doors and lift) or tandem (narrower but longer). For newborn twins, both seats must lie flat or take two infant car seats. See twin strollers.

8 criteria for choosing a stroller in Morocco

1. Use from birth

A newborn should travel lying flat (or in an infant car seat for car journeys): you need a carrycot, a seat that converts into a carrycot, or a seat that truly reclines flat. On some product sheets, "lying position" does not mean "fully flat": if in doubt, we check the manual with you.

2. Weight

It matters most if you live upstairs without a lift or take the tram and train. For reference, according to the manufacturers: 5.6 kg for the Soko and Zephir, 7.2 kg for the Sunlite, 7.5 kg for the Leona, 8.1 kg for the Soho, 9.6 kg for the Ingenious and 9.8 kg for the Zelia S Trio. A travel system weighs more in total, since you add the car seat.

3. The fold

Test it before you buy: does it fold with one hand? Does it stand when folded? Do you need to remove the seat? For example, the Zelia S Trio cannot be folded with the seat attached, while the Sunlite folds with its seat. This is exactly what you can try in our Maârif showroom.

4. Your car boot

A Dacia Logan, a Clio and an SUV don't have the same boot. Measure yours and compare with the stroller's folded dimensions, leaving room for luggage and shopping. Small boot: go for an ultra-compact.

5. Wheels and suspension: think of Moroccan pavements

High kerbs, cobblestones, kerbs without ramps: in Morocco, small hard wheels quickly tire baby and parents. Prefer medium or large wheels, suspension and lockable front wheels. In the medinas (Fez, Marrakech, Tetouan), a light stroller you can carry for a few metres beats a bulky travel system.

6. Canopy and sun protection

The Moroccan sun is strong. Look for a wide, extendable canopy with a stated UPF rating (UPF 50+ for the Soho according to Maxi-Cosi) and a ventilation window. Never fully cover the stroller with fabric that blocks airflow.

7. The basket

A large basket avoids hanging bags on the handlebar, which can tip the stroller over. Check its maximum load (5 kg for the Soho, for example).

8. Handlebar height and parent comfort

If parents are very different heights, an adjustable handlebar prevents back pain. Also test the brake: it should be easy to engage in sandals.

Premium or mid-range: what you really pay for

Between a 2,000 DH stroller and a 6,000 DH one, here is what you actually pay for:

• Materials: tougher fabrics, a stiffer frame, finishes that age better.
• Ride: better wheels, bearings and suspension, which you feel every day on our pavements.
• Fold: premium models fold faster, smaller and often with one hand.
• Ecosystem: carrycots, car seats and accessories designed to fit together, as with Maxi-Cosi or Babyzen.
• Resale: a well-kept major brand usually resells better.
• Service: manufacturer warranty, spare parts and original accessories that are easier to find.

Our view: for daily use over several years, mid-range or premium often pays off; for an occasional stroller, an affordable compact is enough. Beware of copies of famous models: insist on an authentic product with a manufacturer warranty.

Car seat compatibility and adapters

Not every infant car seat clicks onto every stroller. Three cases:

• Car seat included in the pack (3-in-1 or 2-in-1): compatibility is guaranteed, as with the Brume travel system and the Zelia S Trio.
• Same-brand car seat sold separately: you often need adapters. For the Soho, Maxi-Cosi states that its universal adapters are needed to attach a Maxi-Cosi infant car seat.
• Car seat from another brand: only possible if a dedicated adapter exists.

Flying with a stroller

Rules for carrying strollers (hold, aircraft door or cabin) vary from one airline to another, sometimes from one flight to another. Before leaving Casablanca Mohammed V, Marrakech or Tangier, always check your airline's conditions.

• Only some models are described as "cabin" strollers by their manufacturer: Bébé Confort presents the Zephir as allowed as cabin luggage and IATA compatible, and Maxi-Cosi states that the Soho fits the cabin size requirements of some airlines.
• Even for these models, cabin acceptance depends on the airline and the aircraft. Be ready to leave it at the aircraft door.
• A travel bag protects the stroller in the hold.
